THE 2nd BEST IN CROATIA
Najpoznatija globalna platforma za mapiranje startup ekosustava i istraživački centar StartupBlink objavio je u svibnju 2023. svoje godišnje izvješće prema kojem je Rijeka i dalje drugi najbolji grad za razvoj startupova u Hrvatskoj, odmah iza Zagreba, dok je na svjetskoj ljestvici napredovala za čak 11 mjesta u odnosu na 2022. Izvještaj pod nazivom Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2023 smješta Rijeku na 439. mjesto u svijetu i 32. u regiji istočne Europe, a stalnom napretku njene pozicije doprinose registrirani startupovi, od kojih su mnogi proizašli iz Startup inkubatora Grada Rijeke te dio poduzetnika koji su u inkubatorima Riječke razvojne agencije Porin. Prema analizi StartupBlinka, u Rijeci se u odnosu na lani ponešto izmijenila startup klima, pa danas u većoj mjeri privlači i podupire mlada poduzeća iz područja energije i okoliša, marketinga i prodaje te trgovine i e-trgovine. U periodu od 2020. do danas, riječki se poduzetnički ekosustav na globalnoj ljestvici popeo za 22 mjesta, što je izvrstan rezultat imajući u vidu nepovoljne ekonomske i razvojne okolnosti prouzročene epidemijom, ratnim zbivanjima i inflacijom.
U globalnom izvještaju StartupBlink-a za 2023. svoj kratki osvrt dao je i gradonačelnik grada Rijeke Marko Filipović:
