MARINN – Maritime Innovation Cluster is a platform for R&D projects preparation and development, as well as the maritime industry infrastructure research development. The aim of the cluster is to strengthen the competitiveness and innovation of the maritime industry by networking all relevant factors of the public, private and scientific research sectors within the value chain of the shipbuilding sector and related industries.
The initiative to establish a Maritime Innovation Cluster was launched in 2021. The idea of establishing a Maritime Innovation Cluster developed from the need for research and development of advanced commercial multidisciplinary projects in the maritime industry that require the involvement of multidisciplinary teams of experts.
The priority areas of the cluster are:
- Autonomous vessels
- Green technologies
- Digital technologies
- A engine clean drive with an emphasis on hydrogen
- Smart, green and self-sustaining marinas
