MARINN – Maritime Innovation Cluster is a platform dedicated to the preparation and development of R&D projects, as well as advancing the maritime industry’s research infrastructure. The aim of the cluster is to enhance the competitiveness and innovation of the maritime industry by connecting key stakeholders from the public, private, and scientific research sectors across the entire value chain of shipbuilding and related industries.
The initiative to establish the Maritime Innovation Cluster was launched in 2021, arising from the growing need for research and development in advanced, commercially viable, multidisciplinary maritime projects that require collaboration among expert teams from various fields.
The pillars of the cluster are:
- Autonomous vessels
- Green technologies
- Clean engine drives with a focus on hydrogen
- Smart, green and self-sustaining marinas
- Development and training of human resources for future maritime sector jobs.
