The Bodulovo Business Zone is aimed at expanding the infrastructure support system for small and medium-sized enterprises in the city of Rijeka. In parallel with the implementation of investment projects by entrepreneurs who have purchased building plots, there will be a need for additional economic activities, such as construction works and maintenance of facilities, services related to the employees of entrepreneurs in the Zone, as well as jobs related to the maintenance and landscaping of green areas.
The project “Construction of utility infrastructure in the Entrepreneurial Zone Bodulovo” was implemented from October 2019 to September 2022, with the aim of expanding the infrastructure support system for small and medium-sized enterprises in the city of Rijeka.
The construction of municipal infrastructure in the Bodulovo Business Zone made nine construction plots with a total area of approximately 20,000 square meters available to entrepreneurs, with individual sizes ranging from 1,000 to 8,500 m2. The works included the construction of 872 meters of storm drainage, 496 meters of water supply, 686 meters of sewage drainage, 1,300 meters of public lighting, 3,590 meters of low-voltage and medium-voltage distribution electrical networks, 690 meters of gas pipelines and a water pumping station. In addition, more than 2,000 square meters of sidewalks were built and 6,318 m2 of road surface was asphalted.
With the completion of the works, tenders were announced for the sale of land owned by the City of Rijeka. Out of a total of nine building plots available to entrepreneurs in the Bodulovo zone, eight building plots were sold in two tenders (via auction), at a significantly higher price than the starting price (61 EUR/m²).
For the construction of the municipal infrastructure, the City of Rijeka received co-financing in the amount of 757,892.78 EUR, which was provided from the European Regional Development Fund through the Operational Programme ‘Competitiveness and Cohesion’.
